Parish Council Elections 7th May 2015

Besides the Parliamentary and District Council elections in May, there will be elections for Parish Councils.   If you would like to serve your community, then how about standing for election to your parish council?   Nomination packs are now available from Ryedale District Council at Ryedale House, Malton, and must be completed and returned by hand between Tuesday 3rd March and Thursday 9th April between 10.00am and 4.00pm.  Full information can be found on the Ryedale District Council web-site at http://www.ryedale.gov.uk/site-navigation/about-council/elections-voting/1417-parish-elections.html including a video briefing for candidates and links to the Electoral Commission.   For further guidance contact the Business Improvement Team, Ryedale District Council on 01653 600666 or email elections@ryedale.gov.uk, or contact the Clerk to your Parish Council.

If you are not on the Electoral Register, then you are not eligible to vote or to stand as a councillor; apply to register to vote by the 20th April at the latest.
