School Governors required at Luttons CP School

Luttons CP School is looking to recruit two Associate Governors to join their proactive and friendly Governing Body.

The appointment of two new Associate Governors will help support the school on its journey to become Outstanding.  We are looking to recruit people with business knowledge and/or budgetary management skills, to further enhance the existing skills of the current Governors.

Luttons Governing Body is very supportive to the school with members often going beyond the usual Governor duties. The Governors regularly visit the school and many get involved with classroom activities and other school events.

An Associate Governor’s role is one that supports the Governing Body with their knowledge, experience and skills.  They do not have full voting rights as the other Governors do, however the post is ideal for someone considering joining a School Governing Body but would like to find out more and receive training before doing so. An Associate Governor may wish to take up a full Governor role as suitable vacancies arise at Luttons School or elsewhere.

A successful candidate would be required to attend meetings, read documentation, respond to email requests, attend off-site training, and familiarise themselves by visiting school to build relationships with staff and pupils.  This is a very fulfilling voluntary role, where full training and support will be given.  For more information Becoming a Governor.
