Children with Special Needs – Ryedale Special Families support families of children with disabilities and special need. Ryedale Special Families is an independent charity founded in the early 1990s by a group of parents of disabled children. Multiple Sclerosis - Ryedale Branch Multiple Sclerosis members come from all parts of the Ryedale area. We are people affected by MS, families, friends, carers, who enjoy social outings, shopping trips, therapy sessions and fun with fundraising. We have a Support Officer who can offer information, advice and support. There is a members’ monthly newsletter and an annual lunch for everyone. Our Charity Shop on Smiddy Hill in Pickering holds information, or for more details contact our Support Officer, Maureen Danby-Smith on 01944 758448. New members and volunteers are always welcome.

Sue Ryder Care is a national charity which helps seriously ill people to enjoy the best life they can. Sue Rider have 14 care centres across the UK, 4 of which are in Yorkshire. Local to York is Holme Hall at Holme-on-Spalding Moor and Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds.
